Physics Tutors

Physics Tutors

The Physics Department employs a few upper division students as tutors for students enrolled in the Physics 123-124 or Physics 211-212 courses. Their services are free!  They are generally available on the 2nd floor of the CPISB (Integrated Science Building), next to the Planetarium entrance.  Weekly tutoring hours will be posted on the Physics Department bulletin board on the first floor of the CPISB building. Spring 2013: Salome Scott will be available during the following hours: Tu/Thu : 10am-1pm, and Fri: 9am-1pm

The Learning Resources Center (LRC) has a great many resources for students, but no physics-specific tutoring at this time. (Fall 2012)

Online tutoring is available through the library, via a program called Statewide Library Electronic Doorway (SLED); they offer live online tutoring sessions, and are free for students, seven days per week from 1 pm to 12 midnight. They provide "Introductory college-level tutoring for English, Math, Science, and Social Studies."  The quality of this service is not known (and they have not been officially vetted by the physics department), so your results may vary: http://sled.alaska.edu/homework.html
