On January 9, the Justice Center at the University of Alaska Anchorage and the American Civil Liberties Union of Alaska will bring you a special evening celebrating 50 years of statehood and our unique Alaska Constitution.
Our Alaska Constitution—The Next 50 Years is free and open to the public. The program includes a keynote address by Juneau Mayor and former Alaska Attorney General
Bruce Botelho; a panel presentation, "At The Constitutional Convention," with
Vic Fischer,
Katie Hurley,
Arliss Sturgulewski, and
Douglas Pope. The evening’s moderator will be
Rhonda McBride.

The event will also include performances by the Anchorage Concert Chorus, Alaska Native dance troupe Lepquinm Gumilgit Gagoadim Tsimshian Dancers, and Bartlett High School students presenting a staged reading of selected minutes of the Constitutional Convention.
Simultaneous live broadcast teleconferences with Barrow, Bethel, Dillingham, Fairbanks, Homer, Juneau, Ketchikan, Kotzebue, Nome, and Sitka, will allow audience participation around the state.
