What is a DANTES?The DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (DSST) Program are nationally recognized testing program that provides students the opportunity to receive college credit for learning acquired outside the traditional college classroom. The program consists of exams in 47 undergraduate college courses. DANTES is a computer based test.* Why take DANTES exams?Students take DANTES exams to save time and money, move right into advanced courses, graduate on time, and satisfy a proficiency requirement. Many students save time and money by taking DANTES exams to gain college credit for what they already know whether it was learned by independent study, advanced high school courses, professional development, or occupation skills. ScheduleDANTES testing is done at the Advising and Testing Center, Located at the South Entrance in the University Center Mall, Room 112.
You may walk in during open lab hours. The cost of a DANTES exam is $100.00, which is covered in two separate payments:
The $15.00 test registration fee may be paid at Cashiering, located in the University Center prior to taking your exam.
OR You may pre-register and pay the $15.00 test registration fee online. There will be a $3.00 convenience fee charged for this service. All testers will need a 4 digit school code in order to take the exam. UAA School code is 9043. If you are taking DANTES for another school, lookup your code here before coming into the testing center.
The DANTES Speech test is now computerized, and requires testing in a private room. If you plan to take this test, you must schedule an appointment with us at least 24 hours in advance. You may schedule an appointment here or call 907-786-4525 during open lab hours.
