Alaska Educational Innovations Network (AEIN) Scholarship
AEIN scholarships will be awarded to successful applicants to cover the cost of tuition for the internship year. Candidates from all College of Education teacher preparation programs are eligible to apply. Federal regulations require that scholarship recipients teach in a high need school* for one academic year within six months of program completion (the high need school may be in another state). Recipients unable to fulfill this requirement must arrange with the U.S. Department of Education to repay the scholarship monies. Preference will be given to candidates who are members of groups that are underrepresented in teaching professions (e.g., Alaska Natives, members of ethnic or cultural minority group, individuals with disabilities, male elementary or early childhood education majors, female secondary math and science majors).
