Distance Delivered Programs
The key concept with distance learning is access. By offering distance delivered programs, the Allied Health Sciences (AHS) Division is providing greater access to higher education to all Alaskans. It allows the delivery of education to students regardless of location, thus removing the need for students to travel away from their homes to get an education. Our distance delivered programs use several methods of course delivery including web-based courses, audio and video conferencing, and hands-on clinical experience. Course delivery formats vary for each program. The School of Allied Health is also simultaneously meeting the growing needs of Alaska's health care industry, especially in rural areas. The concept of distance delivered educational system allows Alaska to grow its own health care workers who are committed to living and working in Alaska. How is a health program distance delivered?
