FASD: Best Practices in the Last Frontier

The Arctic FASD Regional Training Center and the University of Alaska Anchorage Center for Behavioral Health Research & Services invite you to attend the 2013 conference on FASDs - FASD: Best Practices in the Last Frontier.

This conference is focused on providing up-to-date information about fetal alcohol spectrum disorders, including treatment and intervention strategies, research updates, and advocacy strategies for professionals, individuals with an FASD, and their families.

The conference is designed for a wide variety of health, allied health, education, social, and human service professionals and providers, as well as the learning and networking needs of individuals with an FASD and their families, and the professionals working with them.

Local experts will be joined by presenters from aournd the country, including Kathy Mitchell of the National Organization on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (NOFAS), Morgan Fawcett, Dr. Roger Zoorob of the Southeast FASD Regional Training Center, and Dr. Yasmin Senturias of the Southeast FASD Regional Training Center. The Arctic FASD Regional Training Center national consultants Dr. Susan Astley, Dr. Sterling Clarren, Dr. Heather Carmichael Olson, Dr. Tracy Jirikowic, and Dr. Truman Coggins will also speak at the conference.

We hope that you will join us in May for an opportunity to learn about what's happening around FASDs in Alaska, to connect with families and professionals, and to continue to provide support for individuals with an FASD, their families, and for women who may be at risk of an alcohol-exposed pregnancy.
