Academics

The Aviation Technology division offers a number of degrees and education opportunities, each of which prepares students for specialized employment in their field.

Air Traffic Control
A.A.S. and B.S.
Recognized by the Federal Aviation Administration as a College Training Initiative school. Areas of study include radar and nonradar environments, tower operations, flight service stations, and regulations. Simulators provide site-specific training in controlled airports in Alaska, the continental U.S. and international locations. Depending on course sequence and placement, students may be able to complete the associate degree in Air Traffic Control within 18 months rather than the standard two years.

Aviation Administration
A.A.S. and B.S.
The Aviation Administration program prepares graduates for entry-level management positions in all aspects of the aviation industry. Areas of study include airport management, airline management, air service operations, and laws and regulations. 

Aviation Maintenance Technology
Certificate (Airframe & Powerplant) and A.A.S.
Designed to prepare students for the highly skilled profession of aviation maintenance, this program is an exciting introduction to the responsibility of maintaining aircraft in an airworthy condition. 

Professional Piloting
A.A.S. and B.S.
Prepares graduates for careers in the demanding, yet highly rewarding world of professional piloting. Theory and flight training is provided through an FAA Part 141 approved curriculum. Along with a fleet of Cessna 172 and Diamond C1 aircraft, we also incorporate advanced flight-training devices and simulators into the program. 

Minor in Aviation Technology
A minor in Aviation Technology allows students majoring in another discipline to add basic understanding of aviation as a general field to their education.
