UAA Alaska Native Studies and the UAA Program in Canadian Studies welcome Ellen Bielawski and her new book, Rogue Diamonds.

UAF professor Walter Benesch presents his book, The Ecumenical Cruise and Other Three-Legged Chicken Philosophy Tales. This event is co-sponsored with the UAA Philosophy Department.

October 21st

National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week Harold Napoleon, author of Yuuyaraq: Way of the Human Being, will present “On Family”.

October 23rd

"Mole Day!" Celebrated annually on October 23 from 6:02am to 6:02pm, Mole Day commemorates Avogadro’s number (6.02 x 10^23), which is a basic measuring unit in chemistry. Celebrate at the UAA Campus Bookstore with Mole music and jokes.

November 4th

Molly Lee, author: Eskimo Architecture, and Patricia Partnow, author: Making History, come to discuss their new books.

November 5th

Keren Friedman, photographer, presents her exhibit, “Jews from Djerba, Tunisia”.

November 6th

Kevin Martin presents, “A Look at Syria Today”.

November 7th

Keren Friedman presents “Jewish Life in a Tunisian Village” with slide show and costume regalia. This event is co-sponsored with the UAA History Department and the Alaskan Humanities Forum.

November 11th

Chef Vern, UAA’s Culinary Arts and Hospitality Dessert Chef, presents “CHOCOLATE-CHOCOLATE-CHOCOLATE”. Come taste delicious chocolate treasures that are perfect for the holidays.

November 15th

"ALASKA NATIVE WRITERS: Strengthening the Spirit" With Velma Wallis, Jan Harper-Haines, Loretta Outwater Cox, Martha Upicksoun Feenstra, and members of the Alaska Native Oratory Society. This celebration honoring Native Heritage Month includes brunch, book signings and oratory performances. 10:00am to 4:00pm This event is sponsored with ACB, AKNOS, SCNEA and UAA.
