Aging and the Brain As the brain ages, does dementia follow? The majority of older adults will tell us that the brain is the first to age, when in all actuality it is the last. The brain will show relatively few signs of aging if we have good genes, lifestyles and mental health. The topics of this presentation will include what changes we can expect as we grow older and what we can do. Presenter for this event is Dr. Ron Lucchino, Ph. D., Professor of Biology and Director of the Institute of Gerontology Emeritus, Utica College of Syracuse University. Funding for this event is provided by the US Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Service Administration (HRSA), Bureau of Health Professions Grant #HP 80021A0. Sponsored by the Alaska Geriatric Center (a program of the University of Alaska Anchorage) and the UAA Campus Bookstore. 6:00-8:00pm
