This session will look at the applications from the perspective of the Grants & Leaves Committee, specifically what they are looking for, how they assign ratings, and how the ratings are presented to the Provost.

Degree Works:  What it can do for you as an advisor and your students
12:00 pm – 1:30 pm   LIB 214
Have you ever wished for the ability to conduct "what if" scenarios with your advisees who are considering  different emphases?  Have you ever wished you had the ability to include follow up notes in a student's file?  Have you wished for a program that would automatically provide the student with a list of the courses he/she still needs to take to complete their degree?  If you answered "yes" to any of these, please join John Allred, UAA Registrar, for an introduction to Degree Works, the new student advising software scheduled to be available to faculty and students in late spring 2009.  Since this will be a hands-on session, please RSVP so we can monitor computer and room capacity.
