Job Title: Student Manager
Rate of Pay: $10.25/ hour
 

The Student Manager oversees the general operation of the UAA Student Union. They are responsible for all functions occurring during their shift as well as coordinating the activities of the student employees under their authority. Managers are expected to accommodate the needs of the building and all patrons with considerations to limits of space and equipment availability and according to Student Union and UAA policy. Managers must be aware of their responsibilities, confident of their abilities, and committed to maintaining a high level of performance on the job. Managers work as many as 20 hours per week inclusive of nights and weekends. Managers report directly to the Assistant Operations Manager and Operations Manager and may receive direct supervision from Department Coordinators, Directors, and the Dean of Students.

Basic Qualifications:

Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
Must be in good judicial standing with the University
Must be in good physical condition and be able to lift 50 lbs. with accommodation
Must possess good organizational skills, communication skills, leadership abilities, as well as the ability to exercise good judgment and initiative in stressful or emergency situations
Must maintain a professional image
General knowledge of UAA and University policy and procedures

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior supervision and/or team leadership experience
Past or current involvement with a student organization or club
Previous customer service or related experience
