Biography
Alex is a research associate at CBHRS. She graduated with a B.A. (Hons.)
degree in anthropology from the University of Otago in Dunedin, New
Zealand, in 1999, and arrived in the United States in 2001. She
completed an M.A. in applied anthropology
through UAA in 2012. Her research interests include the relationship
between culture and disease in past and present societies, how health
and disease are viewed within cultures, and tracing past disease
patterns through the skeleton. When she is not working
or studying, Alex enjoys traveling, yoga, dancing, reading, and
spending time with her family and friends.
