Becky earned a Master of Science degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Utah in 2006 and joined CBHRS in 2011. She is skilled in designing and implementing all aspects of qualitative research from conceptualizing problems and developing data collection tools to collecting narratives and analyzing results in order to produce conclusions to answer research questions. Becky’s research activities involve topics related to suicide prevention and fetal alcohol syndrome. She conducts continuing education training for academic audiences and healthcare professionals across Alaska and assists in evaluating the impact of training on provider knowledge and practice behaviors. Becky has worked with Alaskan medical professionals, community members, and young adult college students to collect both qualitative and quantitative outcomes. She continues to disseminate findings in peer-reviewed journals and has served as a peer reviewer for Qualitative Research in Sport, Exercise, and Health. Finally, Becky is a Licensed Professional Counselor and provides mental health care at the UAA Student Health and Counseling Center.
