Michael Covone, M.P.H., M.S.W.
Graduate Research Assistant
Michael is a student in the UAA Ph.D. Clinical-Community Psychology program and works at CBHRS as a Research Assistant. He received an MPH and MSW from the University of Hawaii and is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES). He has over 12 years of practice experience in developing, implementing and evaluating HIV and STD prevention programs for Alaska Native communities. Michael is interested in translational and community based participatory research activities around suicide, inter-generational trauma, drug use, resiliency and other issues affecting Alaska Native communities.
