Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Do you work with individuals or families who experience Autism Spectrum Disorder?
You may qualify for an opportunity to obtain a Board Certification in Behavioral Analysis. The BCBA program supports Alaska’s Workforce Development Initiative, and is aimed at building Alaska’s capacity to support children, youth and adults who experience Autism Spectrum Disorders.

This opportunity includes:
  • Tuition Support for 5 classes (15 Credits) in Positive Behavior Support & Applied Behavioral Analysis
  • Funding Support for Coordinated Field Supervision

What you will learn:
  • Laws that govern behavior
  • How to apply those laws in the natural environment
  • How to complete a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA)
  • How to decrease problem behaviors and increase positive social and learning behaviors
  • Data based decision making
  • Positive Behavior Support
  • How to use evidence based practice in you work with children and families

Your commitment:
The BCBA Program is a 2 year commitment, involving 5 online courses (totaling 15 credits) and 1500 hours of field experience. To qualify for this opportunity you must currently hold a Master’s degree.
