Chancellor's Awards for Excellence

The Chancellor's Awards promote excellence in what we do and recognize individuals and groups for their exceptional service to the university community.

Award categories and criteria

 

Group Awards

Small Team Collaboration (fewer than 25 participants)

  • Significant contributions or efficiencies through collaboration with others
  • Research, creative activity, scholarship
  • Program design, service or delivery resulted in outstanding outcome with constituencies
  • Significant contributions or efficiencies through collaboration with others
  • Research, creative activity, scholarship
  • Program design, services or delivery resulted in outstanding outcome with constituencies

Large Team Collaboration (more than 25 participants)

  • Significant contributions or efficiencies through collaboration with others
  • Research, creative activity, scholarship
  • Program design, services or delivery resulted in outstanding outcome with constituencies
 

Individual Awards

University Diversity

  • Making significant and positive differences in enhancing diversity on campus
  • Increasing visibility, representing diverse voices, advocating, showing program initiative, and creating a sense of community as a public square.

University Sustainability

  • Reducing UAA's impact on the environment
  • Educating students on sustainability for the planet
  • Developing systems and work processes to help UAA in their sustainability efforts
  • Fostering community partnerships in Alaska's sustainability efforts

Service to Students (2 Awards: one faculty, one staff)

  • Demonstrated, well recognized, sustained, or recent special effort, by a faculty or staff person that was of significant value and merit, such that a significant group of students have benefited from the effort.

Service to Community (2 Awards: one faculty, one staff)

  • Connecting UAA with the state of Alaska through academic courses, projects and research activities
  • Promoting partnerships and creative endeavors resulting in benefit to the community.

Staff Excellence

  • Demonstrated, well recognized, sustained or recent special effort by a staff person resulting in a significant and positive impact on UAA.

Excellence in Teaching (2 Awards: one faculty, and one adjunct faculty)

  • Making a significant and positive impact on the lives of students.
  • Enlisting students to participate in recognized research, engagement, and/or creative activities.

Excellence in Research/Creative Activity

  • Making a significant and positive impact in your field of study and to UAA by participating in research, engagement or creative activities.
