This is the first semester course in the sequence.
The course presents an in-depth study of the structure and function of amino acids, proteins, carbohydrates, nucleic acids, lipids and membranes.
Registration restrictions include graduate standing, a course in organic chemistry, a course in biology, or instructor permission.
Students who completed CHEM A441 as part of their undergraduate degree cannot receive credit towards their graduate degree from CHEM A641.
This course does not have a laboratory component.
