Student ObserversIt is the goal of the board of directors and staff at Tanaina that UAA students and faculty have opportunities to conduct observations and implement theory through best practice in the care and education of young children. Tanaina's classrooms are open to observation Monday through Friday, 7am to 12pm and 2pm to 6pm. To help ensure the health and safety of the children at Tanaina, each individual wishing to observe and/or interact with the children must submit documentation prior to spending time in the classroom.
UAA College of Education Students may submit the above forms to the Early Education Program and receive a letter that can be submitted to any participating licensed program.. Observers must understand that the information collected, both directly and indirectly, through the course of their presence at Tanaina is CONFIDENTIAL. Data collection and final reports are not to include actual names of children nor are they to discuss their observations with anyone outside the classroom teacher, the center administration, the child's parent, course instructor, or classmates. Any violation of this CONFIDENTIALITY may result in the observer being barred from Tanaina or any other licensed child care facility. |
