The ELearning work group is conducting a mobile usage survey of students for the third year in a row. The results of the survey will be used to help IT Services and UAA faculty members understand how widely mobile devices are used on UAA's campuses. Summer Course Updates for Instructors

Summer Blackboard course shells are available

The Summer 2013 template has been updated to reflect student & instructor needs based on feedback & usage data. More information and training resources at Instructor Blackboard Resources.
  • Teaching Styles options under Course Management has been disabled due to disfunction. Instructors can still completely customize navigation.
  • Instructor Help content area has been cleaned up for ease of use.
  • Student Help content area has been cleaned up for ease of use.
  • Tools area has fewer tools automatically shown in student view. Instructors can still completely customize tools shown.

MAC OS X Java Repair

Apple users may find Java is disabled on their computer. The recommend action is to install the latest Java version for your system, then run UAA's Java Enabler tool. The following links require your UAA user name and password to download the software. Additional versions are available in the UAA Knowledge Base.

  1. Install the latest version of Java for your operating system:
  2. Verify that everything is working. If the issue is resolved, then stop; otherwise, proceed to step 3.
  3. Apply the Java Enabler below. This tool should re-enable Java on your system.
  4. Verify that everything is working. If the issue persists, contact the IT Services Call Center for further assistance.
