Program Requirements

The Minor in Speech-Language Pathology is 21 credits.  The courses comprise most of the prerequisites required to apply to the affiliated distance graduate program in Communication Sciences and Disorders with East Carolina University.  By working closely with advisors, candidates may be able to take the additional courses required for application to the graduate program.

  • EDSL A301 Anatomy & Physiology of Speech & Hearing (offered Fall only)
  • EDSL A302 Phonetics (offered Spring only)
  • EDSL A303 Language Development Across the Lifespan (offered Spring only)
  • EDSL A401 Phonology & Articulation Development & Disorders (offered Fall only)
  • EDSL A402 Audiology (offered Spring only)
  • EDSL A403 Aural Rehabilitation (offered Spring only)

*Special note: To apply to the affiliated graduate program in Communication Sciences and Disorders through East Carolina University candidates must also complete:

  • EDSL A410 Speech Science (offered beginning 2015, Fall only)
  • EDSL A411 Neurological Foundations of Speech & Language (offered Summer only)
