Early Childhood Development
Admission to the Department of Teaching and Learning, College of Education: Elementary Education/Early Childhood Major
Admission to the Department of Teaching and Learning is a prerequisite for all education course work with the exception of EDFN A101 Introduction to Education and EDFN A300 Philosophical and Social Context of American Education. In order to be admitted to the Department, students must:
1. Complete an application the Department of Teaching and Learning by one of the following dates: March 1, August 1, or November 1
2. Complete a minimum of 60/45 liberal studies credits, including all General Education Requirements, required for the degree (transfer credits may be used).
3. Have a cumulative GPA of 3.00
4. Successfully complete the Praxis I exam. With the exceptions of EDFN A101 Introduction to Education and EDFN A300 Philosophical and Social Context of American Education, applicants may not enroll in education courses without passing this exam at the level established by the College of Education. From the menu on the left look under 'Test Information.'
5. Provide Interested Person Report (information on menu at left under Background Check)

Fill out top part of form and deliver to Student Services Office in PSB 209 for review and signature of Academic Success Coordinator.
