The UAA Summer Engineering Academies offer a series of week-long hands-on instructional sessions for students entering grades 5 through 12.  Each academy is designed to encourage interest and provide exposure to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The academies also seek to support historically underserved and underrepresented students who have limited opportunities for these experiences.

The academies are divided into 1-week sessions for middle school (grades 5-9) and high school (grades 10-12).  Each week explores one of seven different topics.  This year’s topics are:

Robotics

Structure Destruction

Alternative Energy

Wing Aerodynamics

Advanced Robotics

Advanced Structural Design

Creative Coding

Academy Fee

Each week-long academy session has a fee of $100 per participant (or $200 for Advanced and/or Game Design sessions).  This fee includes instruction, lunch, and materials.  Fee waivers are available for students with financial need.
