Welcome to the new College of Health. I am honored to serve as the Interim Dean. This position gives me the opportunity to expand on the work I have been involved with as a Senior Fellow with the Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority, as Commissioner of the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services, and as that department’s first Director of the Division of Behavioral Health. We look forward to working closely with our many community partners as we improve the health and well being of all Alaskans. Over the next several months we will create a strategic vision and direction for the college, explore inter disciplinary and inter- professional research and instructional opportunities, as well as develop a “One Stop Shop” student advising center. Please join our faculty, staff, students, and alumni in helping to move the College of Health forward during this exciting time.
