Difficult Dialogues

UAA and Alaska Pacific University are pleased to announce the publication of Start Talking: A Handbook for Engaging Difficult Dialogues in Higher Education.  The book is the final product of a two-year project called Engaging Controversy that was one of 26 throughout the country supported by the Ford Foundation's Difficult Dialogues initiative.

As a result of this project, over 60 faculty members have participated in week-long intensives, experimented with new teaching strategies, presented public events, and shared their experiences with each other. With this handbook, they invite you to join them too, to start talking with them and with each other about difficult dialogues in our classrooms, on our campuses, and in our communities.
