Thirty Faculty Fellows from Alaska Pacific University, Kenai Peninsula College, and UAA attended one of two week-long faculty development workshops in May 2006. These intensive workshops introduced faculty leaders to a variety of approaches and techniques for constructively addressing controversy in the classroom.
Intensive 1: May 15-19, 2006
Intensive 2: May 22-26, 2006
Each Faculty Fellow will use one or more of the techniques in their classess during the 2007 academic year. The entire group will re-convene in May 2007 for a three day evaluation retreat to assess their experiences and develop a handbook of best practices.
