UAA's Continuing Education Department supports local and regional businesses in efforts to provide professional development to their employees.

Customized Employee Training

Lunch & Learn

Join us for lunch and leverage a great professional development opportunity at the same time. Our Lunch & Learn Series features current social media used in business as well as other soft skill training opportunities.We’ll offer topics of interest that build your skills or spark new ideas.Registration required by noon the business day prior to class date so that we have time to place lunch order.

The Lunch & Learn Series is held in various locations, so check the current schedule for topics and locations. Course fee includes all materials, supplies, certificate of training, and lunch from a local restaurant.


Bridge to College & Careers

The Bridge to College & Careers is an accredited Workforce Credential* providing 120-hours of training to individuals to refresh and hone skills in critical areas needed to enter the workforce or pursue a university education.

  • Math Refresher - Review basic mathematics needed for entry-level college math and for business and office employment.
  • Effective Business Communication - Develop communication skills required for today's business and college environments. Topics include terminology, grammar, writing and interpersonal communication.
  • Managing Personal Finances - Students are introduced to financial topics, develop skills to evaluation personal financial status and review steps to achieve financial security.
  • Job Search Preparation - Designed for those planning to enter the workforce for the first time or after many years out of the workforce. Focus is on modern approaches to job search techniques including online applications, resumes, cover letters, thank you letters and interviewing skills.
  • Computer Essentials for Today- Learn to successfully and effectively navigate the Internet based on understanding the structure of online information. Develop basic to intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Participants receive an overview of presentation software and relational databases.

Employers may sponsor attendees to complete this valuable training program and individuals may also register to attend the program. Classes may be taken individually or as a full program session for a cost savings. See the current schedule of courses.

*Successful completion of all 120 contact hours of the training program is required in order to receive the Workforce Credential Certificate.
