APPLICATION PROCEDURE

The admittance process is competitive.  The information given here is for general guidance only.  Completion of the admission requirements does not guarantee selection into the Dental Hygiene Program.    Due to accreditation requirements, a limited number of positions (12) are available for each entering class.  Because of the limited class size, some fully qualified applicants cannot be accepted.  All applicants MUST meet with the Dental Hygiene Program advisor to review the applicant file and current selection criteria.  The Dental Hygiene Program application deadline is May 20th, 5:00 pm of the year the candidate seeks admission.  Applicants are encouraged to submit their application to the University of Alaska Anchorage by November 1st to ensure complete processing of application and transcript evaluations by May 20th.  Applicants should be aware that spring enrollment in another institution may delay transcript evaluation and negatively affect the status of the dental hygiene application.
