As noted, each career cluster planning lead reviewed internal and external data, met with faculty and staff, solicited input from advisory board members, and reviewed input received at the January 6, 2006 all-college meeting to establish a preliminary list of needed projects and/or initiatives through 2012. Each project/initiative was then clearly defined using the following approach:
- Why is this project important to meeting industry needs?
- What does this project include? (i.e. give a brief overview of the scope of work needed)
- Knowing UAA-CTC's current human resources, financial resources, knowledge base, materials/supplies, etc., what additional resources do we need to undertake this project?
- What is the potential loss of not undertaking this project?
- What is the best estimation of how this project meets each UAA-CTC Priority Matrix criteria?
Each career cluster planning lead then presented their list of priorities/initiatives, with initial rating scores determined using CTC Planning Criteria, to industry representatives during a two-hour career cluster planning forum. Industry/community representatives were provided with an excel spreadsheet of the prioritized projects based on the preliminary internal scores. Each project was described on a separate form, which provided participants with a clear reference and explanation of rating for each project.
The following list of projects/initiatives, along with ratings and scores, were identified the greatest priorities for Transportation and Power from 2006-2012. For more detailed information about each item listed, please view the Transportation and Power Career Cluster Plan.
