What is the Alaska Coaches' Certification Requirement?

Based on their commitment to improve coaching standards, the Alaska School Activities Association (ASAA) implemented a coaches' education requirement for all Alaska high school level coaches.

Starting Fall 2007 ASAA is proud to announce the adoption of the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Fundamentals of Coaching and the American Red Cross Safety Course. These courses have been developed for the interscholastic coaches in Alaska. This approach to coaches education has been adopted by our state for its versatility and unique approach providing the most comprehensive student-centered coaching curriculum in the country.
