Summer Boot Camp Information

Summer Bakery and Culinary Boot Camps
for students 12-17 years old

Culinary and Bakery Boot Camps project your child into a working kitchen and bakery. Each camp runs for one week, Monday-Friday, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., and take place at the Lucy Cuddy Hall, Culinary Arts department, on the University main campus. Campers receive expert instruction from our faculty-instructors in all aspects of food preparation, from the beginning to the finished product.

Basic Bakery Boot Camp includes preparing from scratch and baking items such as cakes-including decorating, cookies, pastries, scones, and of course bread making - which always proves to be a popular take home recipe. We use the finest ingredients and produce the most amazing desserts!

Intermediate Bakery Boot Camp expands on the Basic Camp, and further explores techniques of baking, decorating, and chocolate exploration. A camper attending the Intermediate Bakery Camp should have attended a Basic Bakery Camp, as the pace is quicker and we are counting on these students to already know the basics.

Culinary Camp arms your student with the hands on knowledge to fearlessly prepare items such as quiche, pasta, pizza, meats, potatoes and salads in their own kitchen - Indispensable skills both now and in the future! First and foremost we emphasize safety in the kitchen, and provide instruction on using knives, which the students take home at the conclusion of camp.

Lunch including dessert is prepared and enjoyed by students and there is plenty to take home to impress the family.

Camps are a week long and include instruction, all food items, chef jacket, toque, apron, recipes, teamwork and fun!
