Richard Rodriquez delivered the NRA and S reading series keynote July 10. Keynote speaker RICHARD RODRIGUEZ delivered several talks in his brief but powerful landing at the CWLA MFA Residency 2011, including to a packed public audience Sunday, July 10 in ARTS 150.   Curtis White, Visiting Writer and Cultural Critic

Curtis White, visiting writer and culture critic will speak at UAA July 18 at 8 pm in ARTS 150.CURTIS WHITE was a featured speaker at the summer 2011 MFA residency.  He has published 11 books and over 100 stories, essays and reviews.  Notable among his works of cultural criticism are "The Middle Mind" (Harper-Collins), "The Spirit of Disobedience" and "The Barbaric Heart."  He has published frequently in Harper's Magazine, Orion, The Village Voice and Playboy.

His papers are collected at the University of Rochester. He serves as professor of English at Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois.
