The "Families of the World" series invited students, staff, faculty, and the community to bring children (ages 5-12) to watch a short film, depicting the life of both an urban and rural child in the target country.

Event featured country-specific food sampling.

Programs were for all ages, many different ethnic backgrounds, a variety of interests from art to film and many other pursuits

Workshop on the history of the Berlin Wall between 1961-1989 concentrated on promoting mutual understanding and tolerance between peoples, drawing on the experience of the long standing tensions between the former East and West Germans
