Computer Requirements for DE

All DE courses @ UAA have some web-based component, meaning that all courses are hosted in the UAA course management system (CMS) Blackboard. Upon admission to the university, each student is assigned a UA ID number (also known as a student ID number) and a UAA Username for accessing UAA-specific tools, as well as linking to myUA Portal. These are explained in more detail in the "Starting DE @ UAA Guide."

Since all distance courses use the Internet at some time, all DE students must have web access. Additional computer requirements will be specified by the instructors, however a general guide can be found at http://distanceeducation.uaa.alaska.edu/requirements/.
