The Care Team works with students, staff and faculty to maintain a safe and caring
environment for students to pursue their academic and personal goals. We
serve the UAA community by being the single conduit for Reporting concerning
student behavior; behavior that may be about the student's own wellbeing
or behavior that threatens the wellbeing of the community. We seek to Prevent
problems before they occur by creating a campus culture of Care, Concern,
Support and Accountability through bystander reporting. We join the students
in their journey to link them to supports within our community and Respond within
24 hours with help; in addition to Crisis Responses. We provide Consultation,
Education, and Support to Faculty and staff when Student issues
reach beyond the scope of academic relationship into mental health, behavioral
conduct, and health and safety. By
stopping at our table participants will learn a bit about what types of
behavior to report and the resources the Dean of Student's Care Team and
provide to the UAA community.

represents the fourth session of the Machetanz Art Festival at
Matanuska-Susitna College. This event is named in honor and memory of Fred and
Sara Machetanz who are closely associated with the early years of this
institution. The artwork of Fred Machetanz adorns the walls of homes and
institutions across Alaska and beyond. The books of Sara Machetanz can be found
on bookshelves across the country. This festival is an opportunity to nurture
the spirit that impelled the Machetanz family to embrace the arts. Take a day
or two in June to join us at Matanuska-Susitna College as we look to the arts
for inspiration, relaxation and fun. Take a class, draw a picture, make
something and meet great artists.
