In creating a CD, you'll first have to download all the recordings to your computer. There are two parts to this step: Finding the recording links & Saving the recordings. 1. First... Find the Recording Links
- Go to the recording links you want to download.
- Click on the link and choose "Save" instead of open or run.
- When the next dialogue box appears, browse to the desktop for an easy-to-find location for the recording information file, which is named "meeting.jnlp"
- After saving and then finding this file, right click on it and choose "Open With" and from there follow the menu to Wordpad.
-
- If Wordpad is not an option, then go to "Choose Program..." where Wordpad will be an option.
- Scroll to the bottom of all the text and look for the following link. This is the web address of the recorded session.
http://elive.uaa.alaska.edu:80/load_recording.event? recordingId=LOTS_of_NUMBERS
2. Next... Save the Recordings
- Copy and paste the address of the recording into a browser and hit the ENTER key.
- The next dialogue box will prompt you to save it. Click "Save."
- Appearing will be a familiar "Save as..." dialogue box. Enter a unique name for the recording, such as "Chap_1_Sect_1," followed by a ".VCR" extension. NOTE: This extension will allow the eLive viewer to play the recording.
-
- Determine a folder hierarchy before you download the recordings. For example, for MATH 302, the main folder could be "MATH_302_Diff_EQ" and the subfolders could be "Chapter_1," "Chapter_2," etc.
- Also, determine unique names to have for each recording that are alphanumeric. From the preceding example, the Chapter_1 folder could have recordings named "Section_1," "Section_2," etc.
- Browse to the folder where you want to store the recordings (See sub-bullets) and click "Save."
- Repeat for all the recordings you wish to put on the CD.
