Located in LIB 215The goal of the Faculty Technology Center (FTC) is to inspire and assist faculty in using technology to improve teaching and learning.  We help with everything from how to use technology for teaching to how to use technology to manage and administer your classes.

Please visit us in the Consortium Library, suite 215, on Mondays-Fridays, 8 am - 5 pm. Feel free to call us during business hours at 786-4496.

Independence Day

The FTC will be closed July 4, 5 and 6 to observe Independence Day - have a great holiday!

 

TECH CAMP August 6-10

The FTC will offer a series of tech workshops the week before the fall faculty contracts, August 6-10. Look for the schedule to come out in June. Come to as few or as many sessions as you want. It's a great opportunity to brush up on Blackboard, eLive, Camtasia, PowerPoint, etc. before the start of all the beginning of the year meetings.

  • Digital Media Services
    • Test scanning: We provide Scantron exam sheet scoring; results are emailed to you with optional analysis reports within 72 hours.
    • DVD and CD duplication (fee for media)
    • VHS conversion (fee for media)
    • Webstreaming of video
    • Loaner equipment for faculty checkout for educational purposes   (We have a limited amount of equipment available.  AV Services also has some equipment available for checkout.)
  • Instructional Design and Consultation
    Designers are available to assist faculty in implementing technologies into their instructional practice. Whether you're thinking about incorporating Blackboard or eLive into your courses, acquiring advanced technical skills, or converting a course to a hybrid or fully online format, the Instructional Designers can get you on your way.
  • Instructional Lab
    Equipped with the latest in instructional technologies, this lab's principal purpose is to support faculty development and the work of eMedia.
  • Multimedia Design and Development
    Our designers work in collaboration with faculty and the instructional design team to create engaging learning by integrating course content with technologies that help meet your course objectives.

  • Technology Fellows Program
    Tech Fellows is community of instructional technology leaders comprised of faculty from all UAA Campuses. These leaders are models for their colleagues in that they integrate technology into their courses to support teaching and learning.
