Technology Showcase

Faculty at UAA are doing amazing work using technology to enhance teaching and learning, both in the classroom and at a distance.  We are excited to present our first showcase to you.

We hope to add more examples. Send an email to ayftc@uaa.alaska.edu if you are interested in having your course -or some aspect of your course featured.

Featured Faculty Project

Dr. Sue Buie teaches Anatomy and Physiology (A & P) I and II via distance for Kodiak College.   We are showcasing her A & P II. She has provided a rich set of resources for students to learn about the human body - online labs, videos of cadaver dissections, the first-ever video of a heart transplant, games for blood typing, and more.  In A & P II, the labs are online.  She has  recorded weekly sessions via Elluminate Live! and brings her clinical background to this comprehensive course.

In this showcase, we feature:

Tour of a copy of Dr. Buie's A & P II Blackboard shell (authentication required)

If you are logged in to Blackboard, LOGOUT of BLACKBOARD before proceeding.  Click on the little door icon at the top of the Blackboard page.

The Blackboard shell is available only to UAA faculty and staff.  This is Dr. Buie's complete shell, minus the tests and quizzes. There are about 40 tests and quizzes in the shell: both on the reading and on the labs. Dr. Buie created a sample 10-question quiz for you to review.

Please note: you will have to authenticate with you new UA username (e.g. lmhenrikson) not your UAA username (e.g. aflmh).  If you don't know your new UA Username is, visit me.uaa.alaska.edu and select Option 1 or Option 2.
