Spring 2012Reminders:
Reminders for students using Post 9-11 benefit:UAA does not submit tuition and fee amounts with initial certifications prior to the term starting. This serves two purposes: first, it allows us to submit initial certifications more quickly so that the VA can begin to process BAH and book stipend payments. Second, for students that make schedule changes after their initial certification, it will drastically decrease the number of over-payments made to UAA thereby preventing accrual of large debts on students’ VA accounts. Tuition and fee amounts will be reported on the final certification, after the add/drop deadline. Tuition and fees will appear as an outstanding balance on your student account until VA funds are received. Your account will have a deferment for the amount we expect to receive from the VA so that no late fees are assessed. Chapter 33 recipients who have been rated at less than 100% eligibility, are taking course work that cannot be certified, or have fees not covered by the VA are subject to the payment deadline of January 27, 2012. The only money that can be deferred is funds we can expect from the VA. |
