- Be familiar with monitoring your Financial Aid Status via UAOnline http://uaonline.alaska.edu/ .
- Always have a UAA Student ID Card or government issued photo ID when stopping by the University Center Kiosk to ask questions about your financial aid status
- If you need assistance understanding any correspondence sent by UAA, please bring the correspondence with you
In order to receive financial aid, you must complete any of the following that pertain to you. - Apply for admission to a degree program and be accepted as a degree-seeking student. See an enrollment advisor in Enrollment Services at the University Center, (907)786-1480
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) UAA School Title IV Code 011462. You must first apply for a Pin Number before beginning your FAFSA www.pin.ed.gov. Submit the FAFSA electronically http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ for fastest processing.
- Meet with your assigned academic advisor to choose classes. Contact your major department or, if undeclared, contact the Advising and Counseling Center in the University Center (907)786-4500
- Register for classes, via UAOnline (Wolflink), using the instructions in the semester Class Schedule.
- Respond to all requests for documents. Not all these may be applicable to your circumstances.
- Parents tax return
- Selective Service Verification
- Student tax return
- Proof of Citizenship
- Verification worksheet
- Social Security Card
- Military LES’s
- AFDC printout, Social Security printout, etc.
- DD-214
- W-2’s
- If you are taking out Stafford loans for the first time you must choose a lender and complete the Master Promissory Note. Contact us when you have chosen a lender. First time borrowers of Stafford loans also have to complete Entrance Loan Counseling at www.mapping-your-future.org .
