UA Scholars

The UA Scholar Award is offered to the top 10% of seniors graduating from eligible Alaskan high schools each year.  This $11,000 award is disbursed to UA Scholars in the amount of $1,375 per semester over the course of eight semesters.  These funds can be used towards eligible educational costs such as tuition, fees, room and board, and books.

UA Scholars are designated by their Alaskan high school based on their academic standing at the end of their junior year.  The beginning of their senior year is when UA Scholars are notified of their designation.  As a UA Scholar in the University of Alaska, students are required to maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 and be considered a full-time student, enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits each semester.

The University of Alaska Anchorage hosts a UA Scholar reception each Fall semester for newly designated UA Scholars.  This reception is a time for Scholars and their families to come to campus, meet students, staff, and faculty, and learn about the incredible opportunities at UAA.
