Dr. Raphael Gottardi
Professional Background
Dr. Gottardi has been an term assistant professor with UAA since August, 2012. Dr. Gottardi recieved his B.S. in “Earth, Universe, Environment” from the Université Joseph Fourier – Grenoble I (France) in 2006. and in 2008 he recieved his M.S. in structural geology from Université de Lausanne (Switzerland). In 2012 Dr. Gottardi recieved his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota in Structural Geology.
Undergraduate Classes Taught at UAA
- Structural Geology
- Physical Geology (lab and Lecture)
Research Interests
Dr. Gottardi's research interests include, but are not limited to, the use of structural geology and stable isotopes geochemistry to understand the rheology and deformation within detachement shears zones.
