Starting December 23rd, UAA students were automatically migrated to Google Apps at UA. This migration process was completed December 27st. This migration covered all UAA students with two notable exceptions:

Students who are currently forwarding their mail - If you forward your mail to a personal email address, your account was not migrated to Gmail.

Students who are also employees - If you are also a full-time employee, this migration does not apply to you. Over the next several months your student account will be merged with your employee account. 

 Google has many exciting features to offer such as:

• Larger mailbox. With 7GB of storage you never have to worry about running out of space.
• Larger attachments. With Gmail you can send and receive attachments up to 25 MB in size.
• Performance. Gmail features a powerful mail engine and an advanced web-client.
• Powerful mail search. Gmail makes it easy to find the message your looking for and sort/organize your mail.

In addition to mail, Google Apps includes a wide range of applications such as:

Google Docs - Create and share a variety of online documents, from word processing to spreadsheets.

Google Sites - Build shared websites that include videos, images and documents.

Picasa - Find, edit, share your photos, and create web albums.
