The health insurance is available for purchase on a semester by semester basis to all UAA Graduate Students who are enrolled in at least six (6) credit hours for the semester.  The UAA Student Health and Counseling Center Center is ready to answer your questions regarding the purchase of health insurance.

Eligibility Policy

Students who are registered for six (6) or more credits for the current semester and have paid the Student Health and Counseling Center (SHCC) fee for that semester are eligible for services. If enrolled credit hours falls below six (6) credits, on or before the date of 100% refund for tuition and charges, students are no longer eligible for SHCC services.

Eligibility for SHCC services is assessed through UAA enrollment services. Students enrolled in six (6) or more credits and at least one course (3 credits or more) on the Anchorage campus are assessed a mandatory Student Life fee per semester, this includes access fee for eligibility to the Student Health and Counseling Center.

Each semester SHCC services are available to students 2 weeks before classes begin, and one week after classes end.

Students enrolled in six (6) or more credits and have all courses off the Anchorage campus, may elect to pay the SHCC fee to have access to services. Please contact our office at 907-786-4040.

Students enrolled in six (6) or more credits in another UA (UAF or UAS) campus may elect to pay the UAA SHCC fee to have access to UAA SHCC services.

Students enrolled in less than six (6) credits are not eligible for Student Health and Counseling Center services.

Summer Eligibility

Students that were eligible for services during the spring semester just prior to summer semester and enrolled for the fall semester of that same year, are eligible to pay the summer access fee to utilize the Student Health and Counseling Center during the summer months.

If students are enrolled for at least six (6) credits over the summer months, and have paid the Student Health and Counseling Center (SHCC) fee are eligible for services without paying the summer access fee. If enrolled credit hours falls below six (6) credits, on or before the date of 100% refund for tuition and charges, services are no longer available.
