2006-07 University/Community Forums
During the 2006-07 academic year, the Health Research Think Tank (HeaRTT) hosted ttwo community forums on health and health care in Alaska.  A third, planned for March 15 and 16 was cancelled.  The series brought together key individuals from the university, medical, government and Anchorage communities.  Each session featured a panel of experts, followed by community discussion; the next day, a panel of UAA faculty shared their research and/or perspectives on related topics. 


November Forum:  Health:  At What Price?
 

The November 16 and 17 events featured discussion of the many factors that influence health and access to healthcare in Alaska, including health literacy, economics, employment, proximity, physical accessibility, and availability.

January Forum:  Challenges to Health and Healthcare
Explores the key problems with and challenges to providing a high level of health for all Alaskans, and the main health issues and concerns that face Alaskans.
