Tuition Waiver Scholarship Deadline

The Honors Tuition Waiver Scholarship is due July 1, 2009. All applications must include a cover letter, two letters of recommendation, a resume listing accomplishments and an essay discussing your personal goals and achievements. Turn all applications into the honors office. For further information visit www.uaa.alaska.edu/ honors/opportunities/ tuition.cfm or call 786-1086.

Frolf

Come join the fun! The Honors Advisory Board will be having a Summer event for the Honors College. Join them at Westchester Lagoon at 6pm on Thursday, June 25th to play a game of Frolf (Frisbee Golf). Each participant must bring their own Frisbee, and it must be a frolf disc. This is your chance to meet new Honors students or reconnect with those you had in your honors classes.

NEW Peer Mentoring

If you are interested in mentoring incoming honors students this academic year, the Honors Advisory Board has put together a new program that is perfect for you! Help incoming honors students with academic questions, campus orienteering, and helpful hints on classes and professors that you wish you would have known as a freshman. It is a great opportunity to meet new people. Applications are now available to become an Honors Mentor. University Honors Student Advisory Board

The Honors Advisory Board is looking for new members! Applications are now available online at http:// www.uaa.alaska.edu/honors/ about/advisory.cfm. The UHSAB advises the University Honors College Administration and faculty in matters relating to the development of new curriculum, student activities and public service. The Board gives you a chance to improve the honors college and meet new people. For questions, contact Breena at 786-1086.

Spend Spring Semester in Washington DC - Scholarships Available.

hrough The Washington Center, UAA students can participate in semester-long academic internships in Washington, D.C. for credit. The fifteen-week program provides tailored internships that match the students’ academic, personal, and professional interests.
