graduation The University Honors College is open to all baccalaureate degree seeking students of all majors.  All students who believe that they can succeed and benefit in an honors program are encouraged to apply.  

The University Honors College accepts applications from both high school graduates and college freshmen and sophomores with a GPA of 3.00 or better.  

If you are a University of Alaska Scholar, you will be automatically accepted into the College upon application.

Application Process for the University Honors College

1. Apply for a Baccalaureate Degree Program at UAA.

Admission to the University Honors College is limited to students who are admitted to a baccalaureate degree program at UAA.  Admission deadlines for UAA are July 1 for the fall semester and November 1 for the spring semester. Apply for admission to UAA online.

2. Read the Honors Code of Ethics and sign the Pledge.

All applicants are required to review the University Honors Code of Ethics and sign the University Honors Ethics Pledge. The University Honors Code of Ethics provides guidelines for the conduct of students enrolled in the University Honors Collegeat UAA.

3. Complete an Application for Admission to the University Honors College.

The admission process is divided into the following categories:

a)  Regular Application for Admission and Scholarship-  for all students applying from high school or transferring into the program with previous college-level work.  Applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA, and show strong evidence of ability to reach and maintain a 3.5 GPA level at UAA. Students should be placed in ENGL 111 or above before registering for HNRS courses.

b)  UA Scholars Application- The University Honors College supports the University of Alaska Scholars Program by offering automatic admission to UA Scholars upon application. More information about the UA Scholars Program.

Application Process for the Forty-Ninth State Fellows Program
