Honors Courses These courses will satisfy 3 credits of GER in Humanities. HNRS A192: A Doll's House: Women in Victorian Society This seminar focuses on the impact of Ibsen's electrifying play and social change in the late 19th century. The course includes projects associated with a production of A Doll's House by the UAA Department of Theater and Dance. Over 30 years ago, Rachel Carson's Silent Spring warned that man-made chemicals were taking a deadly toll on birds and wildlife. Using the emerging science of sustainability, this seminar uses Our Stolen Future: Are We Threatening Our Fertility, Intelligence and Survival? to explore whether the situation has improved. Are we threatening human sexual development, reproduction and intelligence? If so, why is this happening? Explore cultural paradigms supporting the underlying laws and policy, and implications and the environment.
