As a University Honors student, you’ve already created opportunities for yourself by engaging in the Honors curriculum. Your undergraduate experience can be further heightened by participating in research and internships, and by applying for local, national and international scholarships and fellowships that recognize outstanding students.  

Current Listing
The University Honors College belongs to many national organizations to provide our students with opportunities both nationally and internationally.  Through these organizations UAA students are able to apply to study, internship, and research programs through other universities.  Check out the current listing of opportunities. 

Scholarships
The University Honors College awards several tuition waiver scholarships each year. These competitive awards are open to both incoming and continuing University Honors students. 

University Honors College students have had good success winning national and international scholarships.  We encourage all Honors to research these opportunities as they open doors to graduate school, research abroad, and other prestigious opportunities.    The Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholarship (OURS) maintains a listing of these opportunities.  OURS has published a major scholarship handbook designed to help students navigate the application process for prestigious awards and fellowships. 

Dean's Award for Excellence
The University Honors Dean's Awards for Excellence recognize outstanding Honors students at the freshman, sophomore, and junior levels with a $200 cash award. 

Research Opportunities
The Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholarship is an excellent resource to help you find interesting projects happening on campus as well as at the state, national and international levels.  Conducting research, whether it is for an independent project you have developed or part of a professor's larger research project, is one of the greatest endeavors a students can undertake.  Honors students have researched everything from causes of asthma to nonlinear dynamics to global warming.  See more by reading students' Capstone Project titles. 

Departmental Honors
In addition to the University Honors College, several departments at UAA offer departmental Honors programs.
