Making friends is an essential part of your college experience. Studies have shown that students are more successful when they live together on campus, share academic interests, and participate in social activities.
The Honors Floor, comprised of the Freshman Experience Wing and the Returning Honors Students Wing, is located in East Hall, one of the residence halls at UAA. Living on the "Honors Floor" is an excellent opportunity to live with students of similar academic commitment and abilities.
For more information and to download an application form, visit UAA's Housing, Dining, and Residence Life website or call (907) 786-7202.
"College was not created simply to continue one's education; college was created to give young adults a foundation for a better, well rounded future. Living amongst one's peers is inspiring and fosters an inexplicable, irreplaceable environment to grow on multiple levels." - Amber Sawyer, Political Science major, current RA on the Honors Floor of East Hall.

"I have benefitted from living with Honors students because it really rounds out the college experience. College is more than just academics, and having a community around me to support me is really empowering."
- Liz Percak-Dennett, Biological Sciences major, was the RA on the Honors Floor of East Hall in 2006-2007.

"Some people think they have to go out of state to get a first class education. I was tempted, but choosing UAA and the University Honors College was the best decision I could have made." - Kelcie Ralph is a National Merit Scholar. She is a junior majoring in Economics and served as the Peer Mentor and then RA in 2007-2008 on the Honors Floor.

"I learned about the University Honors College and decided to join because of the Honors Floor in the Residence Halls.”
