What is mentoring?  Faculty mentors assist students in making the transition from classroom learning to real world applications, working with individual students, one-on-one, outside of the classroom setting.  Well-mentored students develop the confidence needed to pursue successful careers.  Close interaction among students, faculty, and other research or creative personnel exposes students to scholarly processes, methodologies, and to higher levels of learning.
